It’s been just about a year since we made our official...
I first found Qi Gong in 2011, after having studied the I Ching for years. It was a natural next step, and a lovely compliment to my yoga practice. Over time, and especially as I became a parent, Qi Gong helped me be more present, quiet my noisy mind, heal my body, and connect me back to nature and my path. I eventually added Tai Ji, which proved essential for my growth in resilience and persistence.
Nine years after my very first Qi Gong class, I finally found my way to teaching. I received my first certification to teach in May of 2019 from Thomas Droge at the Pathfinder Institute, and continue to expand my personal practice and knowledge base. I was in the process of completing the second certification level when the pandemic hit. But in October of 2020, I completed am online training with Roger Jehnke, director of the Institute of Integral Qi Gong and Tai chi, and received a certificate as a Practice Leader in Medical QiGong.
I teach now so I can share this beautiful, transformative practice with others. In my classes, I hope to demystify Qi Gong and familiarize students with some of the basics, so they can practice on their own and begin to unearth their own paths. (Here’s more about my path to teaching. )
I would not be here had it not been for my growing list of teachers in this incredible work: Thomas Droge, Master Xongxian Wu, Mimi Kuo-Deemer, Roger Jehnke, and Rick Jarow. I am forever grateful to them.
